A scaffold built around your home, not a standard kit

Residential scaffolding hire covers most of the jobs a homeowner will ever need scaffold for - a re-roof, an extension, rendering the front of the house, or a full renovation where trades need safe access to more than one level. It's a full working platform, built up from the ground and tied back to the building as it rises.

We don't put up the same structure on every house. The scaffold is designed around your property - the garden, the driveway, how the neighbours' access is affected - so it does the job without being any more disruptive than it has to be.

If the roof is coming off entirely, a temporary roof system can be fitted over the top to keep the house dry while the work happens. For shorter jobs where a full scaffold isn't needed, edge protection and handrail on its own is often enough.

Residential scaffolding, explained

It depends on the size of the structure, how long you need it up and how easy the property is to get to. Scaffolding one elevation for a chimney repair costs a lot less than wrapping a whole house for a re-roof. We price each job after seeing the property or the plans, and the quote covers putting it up and taking it down.

Scaffold needs firm, level footings, which usually means base plates and boards spreading the load. We plan where the standards land before we start, so beds, paving and drives are worked around wherever possible rather than dealt with after the fact.

If the scaffold stays entirely within your own boundary, usually not. If any part of it sits on a public pavement or road, a licence from the local council is normally needed before it goes up. Tell us where it needs to go and we'll advise on whether your job needs one.

Most domestic jobs go up in a day, sometimes less for a single elevation. Larger houses or awkward access can take longer. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with the quote rather than a best-case one.
